I’d rather have Seattle laying 3.5 at +106 than pay -170 to root for them outright. Opening Night on NBC, Wednesday Sept 9 at 8:20 PM ET. Numbers below are from 8:22 PM ET on Sept 4 — run the live NFL board before you put anything down.
Skip the moneyline tax
The model likes Seattle. Moneyline Confidence Score sits at 63 for the Seahawks, 37 for New England. Fine. That still doesn’t mean -170 is a good price. Listed edge on SEA ML is a rounding error (+0.15 pts). New England +170 is the mirror (-0.15). You’re paying a premium to back the favorite you already think wins.
PropsBot founder David is on the other side of that moneyline conversation — he’s interested in the Patriots at +170. The model still favors Seattle; he’s hunting the plus-money dog. Both can be true at once: the board can like the chalk while a sharp entry sits on New England’s number.
The spread is where the price actually helps if you’re with Seattle. SEA -3.5 is +106 with a 49.5 Confidence reading and about +1.2 pts of edge. NE +3.5 is -105, 50.5 Confidence, negative edge. Cover projection is basically a coin flip; the plus-money juice on Seattle tips the model lean.
| Market | Captured price | Call |
|---|---|---|
| Moneyline | SEA -170 / NE +170 | Model: Seattle likelier; David watching NE +170 |
| Spread | SEA -3.5 +106 / NE +3.5 -105 | Lean SEA -3.5 +106 |
| Total | Over 44.5 +102 / Under 44.5 -104 | Pass |
| Team totals | SEA 24.5 / NE 20.5 | Context only |
Leave 44.5 alone
Over at +102 reads 49.7. Under at -104 reads 50.3. Both edges are underwater. Six-tenths of Confidence isn’t a thesis — it’s noise with a juice bill attached.
Team totals (SEA 24.5 / NE 20.5) just sketch how the scoring might split. Directional readings there run 47.4–52.6. Useful context. Not a second play.
How far the lean goes
Model lean: SEA -3.5 +106. If it drifts to -4, stop and re-price — you’re asking them to clear another key number. A softer Seahawks moneyline would reopen that conversation; at this capture, -170 is a tax, not a hammer. Separately, David’s Patriots +170 interest is the dog side of the same price problem — check whether that number is still live before kickoff.

Two quick ones
What’s the Pats–Seahawks prediction?
The model has Seattle winning more often than not (Confidence Score of 63), with the playable chalk entry a lean on -3.5 at +106. Pass SEA ML -170. Founder David is interested in New England +170 as the dog price.
Anyone taking Over 44.5?
Not from this board. Both sides of 44.5 show negative edge.
