Short answer: For NFL pick’em in 2026, PrizePicks caps a lineup at 6 picks and pays 37.5x on a 6-pick Power Play; Underdog allows up to 8 and pays 120x on an 8-pick. Underdog pays more on 2, 3 and 4-pick entries; PrizePicks pays more at six and on a two-miss Flex. Both re-price same-game stacks.

This is the NFL-season companion to our general PrizePicks vs Underdog comparison, which covers app feel, withdrawals and support. This one covers only what changes on a Sunday. Every rule was read from prizepicks.com or the Underdog help center on September 14, 2026; multipliers and state lists move, so re-check the details screen before you submit.

Which NFL props each app actually lists

PrizePicks’ NFL page names the core menu: passing yards, passing touchdowns, rushing yards, receptions, receiving yards and total touchdowns, plus combined stats for some positions. Each pick locks at that player’s kickoff, so a Sunday lineup can still add a Sunday-night player after the 1pm games have started.

Underdog’s NFL scoring page is a longer menu: combined projections joined with a plus sign (rushing + receiving yards, or 1.5 rush + rec TDs, which needs two scores), kicking points (3 per field goal, 1 per extra point), tackles and assists, tackles for loss, first downs, first, last and team-first touchdown scorer, game-high markets, and quarter or half splits where the second half includes overtime. Special-teams yards and two-point conversions do not count toward standard offensive stats.

Payouts: where the two slips diverge

The multipliers look similar until you do the break-even math. Treat each leg as independent and solve for the per-leg hit rate that returns your stake:

So Underdog is the cheaper slip for the 2, 3 and 4-pick entries that most NFL players actually build, and PrizePicks is marginally cheaper at exactly six. On Flex, the 4-pick is identical (6x with 1.5x for three of four). The 6-pick Flex is where they split on purpose: PrizePicks pays 2x for five of six and 0.4x for four of six; Underdog pays 2.6x and 0.25x. If your legs are strong, Underdog’s five-of-six consolation is 30% bigger. If you expect two misses, PrizePicks returns more of the stake.

One caveat both apps publish: the base tables assume standard projections. Underdog’s 0.7x “easier” picks lower the whole payout and 1.5x “harder” ones raise it; PrizePicks’ Goblins and Demons do the same, and lineups that include them “carry altered standard payout rates.” The only multiplier that matters is the one on the details screen at submission.

Correlation rules for NFL stacks

NFL is the sport where correlation bites hardest, and both apps now price it. Underdog’s help center uses NFL examples: Mahomes higher passing yards plus Kelce higher receiving is positively correlated and lowers your multiplier; Burrow higher passing plus Chase lower receiving is negatively correlated and raises it. The shift is shown while you build the entry. PrizePicks says less: lineups with multiple athletes in the same game “may have reduced payout rates,” and a lineup where every remaining player is on one team becomes ineligible and is refunded.

The practical reading: a QB-plus-WR stack is not free money on either app. Once the multiplier is discounted, the stack is priced, and the remaining edge is in whether the individual lines are wrong.

DNPs, ties and Sunday-morning inactives

On PrizePicks an inactive player does not kill the lineup: a 6-pick Power Play with one DNP is scored as a 5-pick, and a 2-pick with a DNP is refunded. Ties revert the same way, except a 2-pick with one win and one tie pays 1.5x. On Underdog, football picks void if the player is officially inactive or never takes an offensive or special-teams snap; a voided pick drops the entry one size, a 3-pick Flex becomes a 2-pick standard, and an entry left with one team or one player is refunded.

One rule changed since our main comparison was written: PrizePicks’ scoring page now states that stat changes made after a pick settles are not reflected in the result, with corrections only for “clear and obvious” errors at its discretion. Underdog settles NFL on NFL.com statistics. Late-week stat corrections are less of a swing than they were.

State access for the NFL season

PrizePicks lists Player Picks in 36 states plus DC, including New York, California, Texas and Florida. Underdog splits pick’em into Classic (15 states, including Texas and Georgia), its peer-to-peer Champions format (17 jurisdictions, including California, Florida and Illinois), plus Arizona and Colorado; 17 states are ineligible, among them New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Massachusetts. Both apps go by physical location at entry. In a Champions-only state, your Underdog payout is set by Champions Points against other entrants, not the fixed table above.

How a PropsBot confidence read plugs into either slip

PropsBot scores every NFL player prop with a Confidence Score (0 to 100, how strongly the models agree) and an Edge Score (model probability minus the sportsbook’s implied probability). On a pick’em app the sportsbook’s juice never applies, so what you need from a model is a per-leg hit rate above the break-even line for your entry size, not a price edge. That is why the hit-rate cohort matters more here than ROI: as of September 14, 2026, the NFL High Hit Rate Signal shows a 73.2% win rate on 20,222 graded picks with a −2.0% ROI at sportsbook prices, and the NFL High ROI Signal shows 13.7% ROI on 8,210. Both are on the public performance ledger.

The workflow for a Sunday slate:

A hit rate on sportsbook lines does not transfer one-for-one to pick’em projections, which are set to different numbers. Treat the score as a ranking tool.

Verdict

For NFL specifically, Underdog is the better slip for 2, 3 and 4-pick entries (3.5x, 6.5x and 12x versus 3x, 6x and 10x), lists more football markets, and shows you the correlation adjustment while you build. PrizePicks reaches more states, including New York, pays fractionally more at exactly six picks, and returns more on a two-miss Flex. If you can access both, run the same PropsBot read against both projections and put each leg where the line is softer.

Frequently asked questions

Which pays more on a 4-pick NFL entry, PrizePicks or Underdog?

Underdog. A 4-pick standard entry pays 12x on Underdog against 10x on a PrizePicks Power Play, and both pay 6x with a 1.5x consolation on a 4-pick Flex. The break-even per-leg hit rate is 53.7% on Underdog and 56.2% on PrizePicks.

Does PrizePicks or Underdog penalise NFL same-game stacks?

Both do. Underdog shifts the multiplier down for positively correlated picks such as a quarterback’s passing yards with his receiver’s receiving yards, and up for negatively correlated ones. PrizePicks says lineups with several athletes from the same game may carry reduced payout rates.

What happens if my NFL player is inactive on PrizePicks or Underdog?

Neither app voids the whole entry. PrizePicks scores the lineup one size smaller and refunds a 2-pick. Underdog voids the pick, reverts the entry one size, and refunds any entry left with a single player or a single team.

Can I use PropsBot picks on PrizePicks and Underdog for NFL?

Yes. PropsBot publishes a Confidence Score and Edge Score on each NFL prop; as of September 14, 2026 the NFL High Hit Rate Signal shows a 73.2% win rate on 20,222 graded picks (−2.0% ROI at sportsbook prices).
